This ruin concept is an idea for a full map.

This is more of a work in progress map as I learn the features of Sandbox. I added a low polygon statue model. I modeled the statue using Wings3d and Hexagon. It still needs tweaking, uv mapped and textured painted. It is alot faster getting models into sandbox than half-life 2. Less steps to go through. nice....
I'm fairly bad about throwing things in before they are ready as I learn a new program but just wanted to see if the md3 model would load correctly.

Next step is to create a 2d concept of the ruins and not just do it on the fly as I have been learning stuff. This has been fun though...

Very nice, I just downloaded wings3d and its great its fun and easy to use unlike blender, still need to learn more about exporting tho.

A few weeks maybe a month till finished if not much modeling,texturing etc... and the sun keeps shining.... :D
Here is a mockup up the statue. I'm not ready to say this is the final look but it's a start....
I don't want to spoil the map so all under wraps till then.
Though it will just be a walk through to enjoy...

I used 3Dcoat to make the texture and normal map...
