Does this actually work on a mac?
Does this actually work on a mac?
i have the latest version which is Mac OS X 10.6.7 and i downloaded the sandbox 2.6.1 version and i looked around the forum and no one seem to have it working and someone said it wasn't compiled for mac, the CLICK_ME_TO_START.bat won't open, i download the PPC Mac Binary and Xcode Project File, which is the launcher but it keep saying folder must exist along side with the launcher even after i put it in with the sandbox folder.

Re: Does this actually work on a mac?
The Mac OSX version should work as far as I know, you should try the Sandbox Launcher too, and if that doesn't work, you can maybe use an older version of sandbox
Re: Does this actually work on a mac?
Hi -
I have been testing this on Mac this morning. Only version 2.3 seems to work. Why is that?? Surely if they made it work for 2.3 they can compile it to work with 2.6.1 etc. Any comments from the developers....?
I think it's really important that a working version of the latest sandbox versions for Mac OSX comes out very soon.

Re: Does this actually work on a mac?
Did you do anything special to get 2.3 to work? When I launch it, it quits immediately.

The only way to run 2.6.1 on a mac is to build sandbox from source

I have made a tutorial on that exact problem. http://www.youtube.com/user/harid001?fe ... yX_y2UHI38. If you still have trouble, reply to this post and we will respond.leschnei wrote:Did you do anything special to get 2.3 to work? When I launch it, it quits immediately.

Fantastic! Your tutorial was very clear and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much.
Now, do you have a tutorial for getting version 2.6.1 to run?! (hint, hint)

Re: Does this actually work on a mac?
- did you try using the most recent Mac Launcher, the 9.2Mb one? Try replacing and using the Launcher that comes with the 2.3 download with the more recent (larger) one. It worked OK for mejSoftApps wrote:The only way to run 2.6.1 on a mac is to build sandbox from source

Sorry my last post was meant as a response to leschnel ...
Re: Does this actually work on a mac?
Thanks for the suggestion ticker. So far I haven't gotten that to work. To be specific, I downloaded the 2.6.1 multiplatform version and the Mac Intel binary. I replaced the sandbox.app file in the multiplatform with the Mac intel version and added the 2.3 launcher (as you suggested) in the configuration shown in HYTutorial's youtube tutorial, but no dice. Upon launching I got an Apple problem report saying that I have to check with the developer to make sure that 2.6.1 runs with Snow Leopard. From reading other posts in this forum, I gather that versions 2.4-2.6 cannot run on the Mac unless they are 'compiled' first. Since I have no idea what that means, or how to go about it, I'll just have to wait until someone else figures it out. In the meantime, 2.3 looks like a lot of fun.
