I have had lots of trouble getting 2.6.1 on mac. I tried compiling with Xcode and multiple different folder configurations. I managed to compile the launcher but not the app itself. I don't think it is currently possible to get 2.6.1 on mac. Only 2.3.

Sounds like you've managed to get the 2.3 version working, leschnel. My suggestion was actually to get 2.3 up and running by NOT using the launcher included with the 2.3 download to launch it, but to use the later (and larger) version of the launcher instead. Don't know why this worked for me but it DID let me open and run 2.3 successfully. As far as compiling 2.6.1 from a binary source, I get the same error message you did when I try to build and run it as an XCode project. popinman32 gives specific directions for how to do this but it requires you to have XCode on your mac (currently a 4Gb download). Still working on getting a compiled version to work. BTW, 2.6.1 runs beautifully on a Windows XP system - but macs seem to do a better render, IMHO.
