We're working on a project regarding computer games and the task is to merely create a basic RPG with minor quests, npcs etc, as it is quite limited what you can do in 1 week with no proper coding in your background. Project has to be done by friday at 12 AM CET +1
We're using the 2.7 version FPS, because we did COOP edit to start off with and assumingly you cannot do that in RPG mode.
It seems some of the tutorials on sandbox wiki are outdated and doesnt work when we attempt with them.
One of the issues we have is that we're abit stranded whether we should use the scripts in the console or make a cfg file for them. We tried with cfg files but assumingly doesnt work (may just be us ofc).
We would like to know how it is possible to implement simple quests ingame, such as:
NPC: Here, take this to NPC2 in order to get magic vial.
As an example.
How does chat dialogues work, and how do we set answer options for the granted questions.
Also, how should we do this, via cfgs? and if so, where should they be added, what folder etc.
Another thing is, is it possible to make a notification whenever a player completes the game/starts the game and how does spawn points work.
Would it be possible to create a large map with a pathway leading to npcs which would grant you escort quests or similar and in the end making you win the game. (This is our idea of the game)
