Lighting help! 2.5 RPG

Post by own4lif3 »

Okay so i have watched and read toooons of tutorials and none of them worked for making lights in 2.5 or 2.6.1 version of PAS. I need to know how to make a light work in 2.5. I have tried spawning a light by using the editing gui (in game) and have also tried spawning a light with "new light" (in game) and the last thing i tried was spawning a light by using the /newent light n n n n. (n=number) all that happens when i do any of those ways listed above it just has red lines which is the radius of the light but no light. PLEASE help! One more thing, i HAVE checked the wiki and searched the forums nothing works so far.

Press F3 and click Quick Light.

Problem solved.

L toggles light on/off, F3 generates the light.

Change the light by Editing Gui as you mentioned, but make sure you follow it correctly. Otherwise you most likely have something messed up.

Working tutorials. Yes, all the tutorials we've given you or you've seen have worked on Every other PAS out there.

I'm just curious, does the light work at all? I mean, can you see it when you toggle the light?

If you still can't get it to work, try the same thing in FPS mode to see if it works there.

Okay well i can see everything fine, the lighting is bright like it should be to start but when i add a light, no light is generated.
I just re-installed platinum arts again and it must be me cause i tried to make a light but it didnt work it just has lines (radius of the light) and no actual light produced.

a light won't appear until you use the calclight command. this command calculates where light should be, and in what degree of brightness. A light won't appear until you use calclight. You can type /calclight to do it. Or hit F3, and there's a quick calclight option, like Arc said.

Didnt someone point this out to you a while back? Or to anybody on the forum? It should be part of the Saving function...
