Platinum Arts Sandbox - Free 3D Game Maker Forum

I am creating my first game through Platinum arts 3D Sandbox game maker,i want to know more about it,please provide me with any good guide you know,how to create creatures and npcs,how the game works and how to make quests.If anyone made a good game,i would like to see it to know the kind of game i could create from this platinum arts.I see alot of sandbox games that you can craft,mine,blacksmith,build houses,sow fields,tame animals,fight creatures and alot more,those games are showing they are like reality and allitle bit fiction.I am looking forward to create such games.

To create games like the ones you described, it might take a while. Platinum Arts Sandbox is a great engine that allows 3D terrain editing instead of having to make 3D models like Unity3D. This is one of the many great features of PAS. I, myself, am currently working on some video tutorials for PAS with a friend named Kid Matthew. We have a website if you would like to see. The website has some great text tutorials made by Hirato (lead programmer of Platinum Arts Sandbox). So far, it covers how to make a directory and how to make NPC's. There are also more tutorials in the wiki. This link is just for the RPG scripting. For mapping, you can go to the main wiki and check out the map editing section. Hope you enjoy your time with PAS. @Rolf: Except for the fact that it's not online. PASandbox has to be downloaded in order to be used.

@arcones: I completely forgot. All questions must be posted in the Sandbox Support section with an explanatory title. Example : "How do I make NPC's talk in RPG mode? "

You mean players wont be able to play with eachothers,i see most sandbox games have to be downloaded to be played,you said in platinum arts it must be downloaded,does that mean there will only be one player plaing the game,others will be npcs?

oh they can play together, jut not in rpg yet, im working on that

Yes, unless Mike gets the master server running OR we start the RPG Server that was suggested by Kid Matthew. Then, we'll be able to connect with our friends and play together. However, we don't know when this will be. I hope it's sometime soon, because I want Age of Darkness to be multiplayer if it can. Until then, yes it's just single player games that can be created with PAS. Although it is possible to connect with a friend or several friends to CREATE the game together. This process is called coop-editing. You can look it up in the wiki on the right hand side. Hope this helped!

You can create NPC's in SP mode. Also, you can connect in coop through Hamachi. Take a look at it, we actually have a whole section on the wiki devoted to coop ;D
