How do I change the grass radius?

The default radius is too close and the way it appears/disappears is too noticeable. It there a command or do I have to alter a file?

are you talking about 3D grass? I don't know what you mean by radius, but the appear/disappear problem might be affected by fog.

Sorry. This is what I mean... the yellow line is the default radius. And the blue line is what I kind of want the radius to be so you don't really notice the grass coming out of nowhere.

There's a series of radio buttons in the "options" menu for determining the grass's rendering distance
