I don't understand a lot of stuff on Sandbox. For example, do you mind reading these screen captures I got from Sandbox?



Can you explain the stuff written on the screens? For example, what's a "calclight"?

And I found this on the Mod DB website:

Now features new game modes such as sidescroller, machinima, kartmode, RPG, and more!

What a "machinima"? And what's a "kartmode"?

Please answer these questions.

calclight is what it says it is... It calculates the lighting of the map.
As I understand manchimia is like a movie making stuff?? or am I wrong? not sure about this one.
And kartmode is a game mode where you can make a racing game...

Why do you need to calculate the lighting? Isn't there already lighting? And why aren't my pictures showing?! -.-'

calclight: used when editing maps. the engine uses "light maps" instead of dynamic lights and they have to compute after the map was modified in editmode.

machinima: movies made inside a computergame, we have the moviecube mod for that. not finished yet.

PAS consists of several sub projects.
*FPS (the standard game mode with multiplayer support)
*SSP (a mod for sidescrolling jump'n'games games)
*RPG (a mod for roleplaying games)
*kartmod (this is from the sauermod project, playermodel sits in a vehicles, usefull for kartgames)
*MovieCube (a Machinima plattform)
