Google Summer of Code

Recently I've been reading on all of the GSoC projects for Blender, GIMP and Inkscape. It's kind of made me wonder... could we do anything like that? It's probably unlikely, but it still could be a good idea somewhere. I guess it'd be undoable here; we don't have mentors, project ideas, and we're not very well known. Anyone else wondering about this?
