Hi! We are a school that is new to using Sandbox Gamemaker. As a teacher and tech. director, I unfortunately haven't had the time yet to sit down and "play" with sandbox. I have a few questions:
1. Can we make the jumppad work?
2. Can you set the respawn point anywhere other than the default when you die?
3. Can you make animals move?
4. Can your character crawl through spaces?
Thanks so much! The students are really enjoying working with it and have caught on pretty quickly. They are obviously at the point that they want to add some more advanced features, but I'm not sure how to tell them that. I am working with 9th and 10th graders mostly.

Re: New School Using--please help!
1. To make a jump pad enter this in the command line - "newent jumppad 50". 50 the basic height for a normal jump pad , just increase the number to jump higher... and if you haven't learned yet to enter the command line just push this (/) .
2. Yes you can if you take a look at your entities list there's a respawn ent you can place it any where you wish.
3. When you have time take a look at the Mater Chief Ogro RPG files, in the RPG there's rats, fish, horses etc that move in a random direction.
4. Crawl through spaces?, at the moment no you will have to figure out how to do it yourself. It is accomplished with scripts you can try asking people to help you with that such as Hirato and Calimer.

Re: New School Using--please help!
Hey! It's nice to see Sandbox used for education as well. I am a 9th/10th grader, 15 I failed once and I'm half in the 10th grade. (don't ask how that works) I've learned the best way to get to know about Sandbox, is to play with it in your free time, and as a teacher that's hard to find. (my mom's a teacher) Also, stop by the IRC and chat with the developers, they'd be happy to help. Reading the FAQ and WIKI helps too, I've posted some tutorials there myself (:

Feel free to ask away in the Sandbox Support forum, just take note that there's a new Sandbox release expected sometime soon with some bugfixes.metz3733 wrote:Thanks!! We haven't used the command line yet, so this will be fun to start working with! I'm sure we'll have lots more questions!!

Heya! I would love to hear more about your school and how it is being used. Also if possible I would like to add your school to the list of schools using SB. Any links you can get on your school page of SB too would be awesome if possible. Take care and let us know if you have any questions!

Re: New School Using--please help!
Thanks for all the replies! You guys are very helpful!
I have a student that has built some mountains and half of them are transparent so you just see the sky through them. So the mountain tops show, but the sides look like the sky. Does that make sense? Not sure how that happened, or how to fix it?
Also, can windows be rotated to fit in the spots that were created? When put in the game, they are sitting at a funny angle.
Thanks again!!

Re: New School Using--please help!
Also, why do we have students who add water to their pit and it just fills up the surface? They go down into the water and it's just grass??
Thanks again! Sorry for all the questions!!
