Ideas - Sandbox Mini Games

hi,

as Sandbox lacks of working games, which makes Sandbox in my eyes a bit uncomely for new users, i have a proposal. Lets start to think about Mini Games. Beside of starting the next big, 10 hours play time long game project, which need a lot of time to finish, lets start to begin add mini games, which could be done quick and based on the recent code status.

What are mini games:

Mini Game only plays in a single small map (max mapsize 10). Mini Games should be centered around a smart game idea. Possible are puzzle games or maze games they make use of triggers and plattforms/elevators. All that different game ideas could also flow into the rpg later, so its not done for nothing.

Proposal:

*MiniGame1: ChimpMan :) - 3d maze game in memoriam of pacman, robochimp tries to eat all bananas, hunted by BananaRobot

*MiniGame2: Plattform/Elevator trigger puzzle game - you have to get from one end of map the other by using elevators and plattforms, which must be enabled by different switches in the right order (a bit like sokoban)

I really agree with this idea, otherwise its this cenario: Hey lets make a game using sandbox! OK! We need more ppl.... We still need more ppl... and the game never will be actually made.

I agree, here is my idea

mini game 3- You have 30 seconds-5 minutes in any random map To find and eliminate mike the robo chimp

I remember a mini game where you had a certain amount of time to grab the coins and proceed to the next level, but the mini game wasn't made that good.

okay, this sounds like a good idea. though there would be a need for the people working on it to know the code right? (like me :? )

if that's the case isn't cube like c++? I'm thinking (okay more like I AM going to learn) c++. I know that's a big task but I think it would be helpful. if that's not the right code I'd appreciate the warning.

C++ is not the code lol, "Cube script" is. Look it up on Cube 2 website.

but I've looked for tuts and I've gone to the cube 2 site but i still can't grasp it (that's probably the reason i deleted the spell area :oops: :? :evil: )

Offtools, this is similar to my game-mode idea actually.
I was talking to Hirato & Calimer about adding another game mode, 'Arcade Mode'.
Arcade mode would make your basic pac-man/galactica styled games, that way you can take little to no time making an actual game.
