What is needed most?
Im new to the community and I feel like I will be spending a good deal of time working with sandbox (at least on a hobby project) and I was wondering if there is an area in the community that is lacking. When I was in a similar community for example, I noticed that there was a lack of original music for game projects followed by a lack of original artwork. Being an artistic type I am sure there is something I could contribute that would really be appreciated, I just dont know what that would be. I plan on learning Sandbox top to bottom so eventually I will be able to contribute everything from music and art, to scripts and code. Although I wont take many requests for a specific project, I will be posting resources and assets that anyone may use, free of charge and without restriction (unless mentioned) other than giving me credit. So write me your suggestions or cast a vote in this poll and once some data has been compiled you may just see some uploads from me that may be just the thing you were looking for.

Mike: Creating a post for what Sandbox needs was a pretty good idea! As I said in the IRC, a whole bunch of models (animated and exported) are currently in development for PAS by me and my team. These will be available (mostly) when Reactor 17 is released. Likewise with textures. We may also have more music for Sandbox, depending on the outcome.

What about detailed tutorials on the wiki?
Most aren't made yet, and that would be a great help I think.
I don't really think music is really needed now, but scripts, 3d models and textures are useful too, but I think tutorials are the most helpful right now (maybe script tutorials?)

Music can be made by people that are willing to sell games, and for fun projects newgrounds audio portal is good enough I think

@RunescapeDJ: Im planning on creating a help index for mappers on PAS, that way they can activate a "run-through" tutorial on how to do certain things in mapping and whatnot. Probably use the Echo command for that. Using a key to forward to the next section.

I think models, music and textures should be high priority, those are stable and aren't going to change often, unlike coding or Sandbox itself, which are always changing (seemingly). However, these would also change from game to game, unlike the engine. So it's a double-edged sword, or a Pyrrhic victory, or something like that. If we have a lot of choices in models and music, though, we might be able to cover what every individual game might need.

Where can I find the IRC?
I am awake 20+ hours a day so I should be able to catch someone there sometime. Like I mentioned I would like to do some contributing to the community at large. I dont know how many 3d models I will be able to contribute as I am currently contracted by a studio to produce a large amount but I can do the others no problem at the moment. I would love to start writing tutorials as soon as I can do so from an expert position. My learning curve for sandbox is moving along great. Once I get Cubescript down and learn a bit more about the nuts and bolts, I do say I will become a creative force to be reckoned with
(Hopefully).

Just curious, but what are you, job/career wise? And what 3d program do you use?

I use blender at the moment for modelling. I didnt understand what you mean by "about the 3d modeling you do?"
