Compiling game?

Post by Bannana97 »

Hey,

I am new to this, but I've been looking for some software that'll let me DESIGN the 3D multiplayer game so I can let my friends PLAY it.

Do they have to download the entire thing, or is there a way to build my game into a .exe or web applet or something?

After you build the game, it is possible to convert the main .bat file to .exe. You would then package the whole bundle, and each of your friends would download it.

Literally exactly how I described it. Once you've completed the game, you'd take the guts from Sandbox (for whichever mode you need) and all the assets (basically you re-release Sandbox only with your maps and as a game). Then you convert the .bat file you are using into a .exe package it, and upload it to a common download site.

I also wanna point out to check the licenses of the textures you're using, as some may be non-commercial and such.

If you're uploading it to a site for example, you should check the licenses, if you just send it to your friends with sites like sendspace or just an USB, I don't think you should, but if you advert for it, you should check ;)
