Hi everyone!

I am a dad with grown up kids and a computer hobbyist for many years. I like to play with graphics and the last several years, it's been 3D environments. I've played a little with OpenCroquet, Alice, Blender, and the Apocalyx game engine doing some creation of games, environments, and scripting. Throw Spore Galactic Adventures and The Movies in there too. Lately, more just playing with OpenArena, QuakeLive, and Cube, although I don't really care for the overall "shoot anything that moves" kind of games. Sandbox is a refreshing change from that, although not having a bunch of bots running around, maybe playing tag or catch or just talking, makes it a little isolating. I have some questions and ideas about Sandbox that I will post shortly.

Hi, DAFfy. You're not alone with having groan kids (spelling NOT incorrect) . I'm a retired CAD operator who was playing with 3D in AutoCAD 2000. However, I don't have your extensive background in games. Welcome aboard. Feel free to ask questions. We are also on SERVER: irc.oftc.net CHANNEL: #sandbox and can (possibly) help there.

Where can I get a working copy of open arena for windows? I had it for ubuntu, but then ubuntu decided to hate me

At their regular web site, http://openarena.ws/ The current version is 0.8.5 which is really a base of 0.8.1 plus a patch.
That is what I've been playing with.
