First off, since Platinum Arts Sandbox is kid-friendly, Hirato took out all of the weapon codes. So if you want weapons in your game, you either have to learn C++, or use another game engine like Cube 2: Saeurbraten, which is the engine for PAS.
Second, if you have no coding experience, I suggest you start with the very basics. (

If you can get this, then the rest will be pretty easy.
Third, to add new characters/objects, you need models, 3D models to be specific. You can get some for free if you search Google. However, PAS only accepts models with the (.md2), (.md3), (.md5), and (.obj) file extensions. md2 and md3 are for your basic objects such as doors and whatnot, as is obj. md5 commonly used for living creatures. You also have a choice to make your own models using a 3D modeler such as Blender, Sculptris, Ogre3D, etc. Unless you are good with geometry and designing things, I suggest you stay away from this except for basic models like boxes.
If you still have questions you can go into the chatroom where people such as I will be on most of the time.

Don't worry, everyone goes through this process at first. I myself am still learning the scripting. Just be patient and try your best and pretty soon you'll be an expert.
Hope this helped!

P.S. If you want, you can join me and my team and help us with an RPG we've started building. Just a thought, but we could really use someone like you on our team. Consider it.
I see that your on right now, so if you want to go on the chatroom, I'll be there to answer any questions you might have.
